The National Weather Service in Ruskin has issued a Flood Warning for: Southwestern Pasco County in west central Florida.

  • Until 8:45 PM EDT.
  • At 6:55 PM EDT, emergency management officials continue to report flooded areas along Us-19 In and Around New Port Richey. Up to four inches of rain have already fallen in the last few hours.
  • Some locations that will experience flooding include: New Port Richey, Jasmine Estates, New Port Richey east, bayonet point, Moon Lake, Gowers Corner, Elfers and shady Hills.

Motorists are urged not to drive across flooded roadways, and risk becoming stalled or swept away. It is often difficult to determine the depth of floodwaters, and most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Remember, turn around Don`t drown! Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

PLEASE folks, use caution and common sense!  Weather conditions are still very bad.
