Yesterday (Wednesday, April 27th), a momentous event shift happened…Please remember that THIS Saturday, the 30th will be my onstage live interview with Papa Crawdaddy. That happens at the Seaside, and you can check out the info by clicking this nice green text.
But the event we are talking about TODAY is going to happen NEXT Saturday, May 7th…It occurs to me, as I put the podcast to bed, someone might show up THIS Saturday morning at 9, by mistake, to participate. Of course, there are WORSE things to happen than finding yourself at Gill Dawg on a Saturday morning, with a kayak. It is a GREAT jumping off point to explore some real Florida waterways.
I went to the New Port Richey Drum Circle and Community, tonight…It’s the 3rd time I’ve been out for this gathering. Great spot, fire going, lots of folks came out. It turned into a great night, for me…I got to sit down with Jaana (above) and Tammy…Known as the Mayor and the Princess, to talk about next Saturday’s Bayou Poker Paddle +Inflatables Event.
They dropped THIS nugget on me…We can get you a DISCOUNT. That’s right, So Local Pasco is so special that the ladies gave us our own coupon code. This is what you do:
Go to the Bayou Battle Website, and register. When you DO, enter coupon code “Pasco” for a $5 discount on your entry fee! You get a great day on the water, prizes, raffles, and a chance at some pretty good money for the right poker hand. Also, me. That’s RIGHT, kids, they are setting me loose in the bayou in (on?) a kayak. That is worth the price of admission…We’ll see if I can keep it out of the mangroves.
Hey, listen…We had a great time. I cannot say enough nice things about Jaana and Tammy…These two ladies: WINNING!
Before I close…I really want to find better words to convey to you all how special I think our coast is. It’s something I think about quite a bit. We just are NOT a beach town. We are a bayou, river, estuary and fishing flats town. Let me tell you if you don’t know: People plan for years to come fish for Tarpon, Snook, Redfish and Trout on our flats…Our inshore marine environment is in pretty doggone good shape.
So please, take a day…NEXT Saturday, for instance…And get on out and enjoy our coast. Care about it. Immerse yourself in it. Share it with your friends and neighbors.
