So Local Pasco Podcast, March 21st, 2016. Mellow Monday Edition

Some days, there is just NOT that much to say, in writing.  Lots of cool, fun stuff coming up for you to do, out in So Local Pasco country…I talk about it quite a bit on today’s podcast.

But frankly, all I want to do is click the publish button, slip on a hoodie, and go out on my back porch, and listen to the divine cool breeze, out there, tonight.

In the podcast, I mention baking pan Cubano…In case you don’t know what that looks like (or believe I baked!) gaze upon my works, ye mighty, and despair!

Tampa style means the palmetto frond leaf down the center of the loaf...The water soaked frond adds moisture to the interior of the loaf.

Fresh out of the oven. It makes a resounding "THUMP" when you flick it...REAL scratch built bread, that will make you wish you had better butter!

This coming Saturday is going to be a BLAST, as we participate in some barter, fresh bread for loquat preserves!  The loquat, while not native, is WIDELY found in Florida (they are originally from southern China)…And make outstanding preserves, jams, jellies and syrups.

This is what they look like. I bet someone in YOUR neighborhood has a loquat tree FULL of fruit, right now. I bet, if you asked them, they'd let you take some. I bet, if you come to the festival on Saturday, someone can show you what to do with them.

This is over 34 POUNDS of loquats! SO MUCH JAM!!

Oh, my GOODNESS!
Oh, my GOODNESS!

So find some time to ease back and just ENJOY your life, this week.  You are living in a sub-tropical paradise, where the 50s is cold.  Where fruit laden trees provide us with loquats, all KINDS of citrus fruit, guavas, mangoes, and MORE!

I’ll see you out there…and if you have guava preserves, I will trade you bread for them!
