I feel lucky to have gotten to Friday, this week. SO busy, so much going on. So much stuff happening that I have to wait to share with you! Last night, I got a chance to sit down with the guys in Fifty Grit, a great local trio that I saw at Shanty’s, last month. They will be the feature band on the next Saturday Music Cast, which airs on the 26th of March. A short taste of that interview is in today’s podcast.
Oh, and HEY! THANKS, Fifty Grit, for the great T shirt!!!
TOO MANY SHOWS! ARGH! So much happening:
Today, So Local TV, Episode 7 will hit the air at 3:30pm, our first HOUR LONG TV show. We lined up the Dave Cook Duo, featuring Dave and his partner Jeff Johnson. You’ve seen them at lots of gigs, today is your chance to hear a little about their lives OFFstage, as well…They’ll also play a few songs, for us.
The show will also feature an invasion, of sorts: Rick Hess, Director of Pasco Kids First, along with Becky Bennett and Paul Friedlander, will stop by to talk about the “Honorary Governor’s Race” going on right now…Essentially, it’s a chance to recognize important community projects that help the needy, the sick, and the troubled…by raising awareness of the critical work these agencies and groups do.
We’ll also talk to Kelly Herman from The Kelly Foundation about her life, and the work her foundation does to be the link between charitable groups and those that NEED HELP. I’ve had her on my “must interview” list since before we even STARTED making podcasts and shows.
Lawless Intent screams into the HandleBar. They are loud, and VERY very good, don’t miss them! I guarantee you’ll see me out for at least a set…Also shows tonight by Monkeybone, The Dave Cook Duo, and a WHOLE lot more…
Saturday, I am an all DAY sucker at the Sunwest Crab and Shrimp Festival, where I will be eating my weight in shrimp, and catching Letter of Intent, Indiana, and the U.S. Stones Tribute Show…
Sunday, Evil Monkeys will be at the HandleBar, and I will be there, too.
Probably die on Monday, though!
I was reminded, today…That the podcast, the TV show, and this blog are among the very few strictly local media streams available to get the word out about local events…I take some pride on holding the door open, so the community can learn about and support the good works YOU do, out there in So Local Pasco Country!
Thanks, kids…See you out there!
