So Local Pasco Podcast, March 16th, 2016. “Puttin’ On the Glitz!” Edition

So much of what I do requires me to be “out” in the community…I am choosing to GO FIND ART, rather than sitting at home, and letting the internet, and TV, and radio tell me what art is.  And it is going well.  I am consistently amazed at the level of talent around us, right here in Pasco County.  Tuesday night, I heard bands, singers and musicians play a WIDE variety of music, and there was a LARGE and enthusiastic crowd on hand to hear it.

The HandleBar Open Mic is hosted by new band "Controlled Chaos", and they are rumbling along pretty good! You should book them NOW, because it's getting HECTIC.

I don’t want anyone to think I think I am singlehandedly bringing music culture to our area…But here’s a fact:  There has been almost NO effort by ANYONE to show you, week in and week out, what is available to you here in Pasco County.  That part I AM doing, singlehandedly:  I am out recording, interviewing, and applauding our local musicians and supporting venues all week long.  I have dedicated a pretty good stack of MY resources (and the resources of sponsors and supporters like John Gaston and the other folks at Tampa Bay Multimedia) to making sure YOU know where to go to get art, music, and culture right here at home.

It’s a fun, funny, charming, emotional thing that I get to do.  I am so grateful.

I am just too spent to write much more tonight…Dig in.  Listen to the music, BUY the music, buy the beer that SUPPORTS the music….Be the wind that carries the music.  I’ll see you out there.
