Generosity seems to be a recurrent theme, in the short time I’ve been doing this podcast, and writing this blog. Go back and look…Over and over again, for the past six weeks, I’ve brought you stories about the generosity of your fellow community members (and YOU, most likely)…People who give, and show their caring with their positive works. This makes me happy. I thought we were going to have to dynamite people into action…But we haven’t. So, what does that leave?
Well, here’s the thing: A lot of bad stuff gets said about our county. Our community. Our town. But that is NOT the whole story. There’s this other side, that I’ve found. Charity events, fundraisers, public information activities, arts, culture…FUN! Just plain old FUN! It’s yours to be had, without leaving town. Can’t find something interesting to do? Maybe it’s you.
Very proud to mention Barry Horvath, again…He announced yesterday that he is running for County Commission, and we wish him well, because we know him to be a hardworking generous member of our community. There’s that word, again…Generous.
Generous: “showing a readiness to give more of something, as money or time, than is strictly necessary or expected.”
Our lead story is about the amazing staff at our Pasco County Tax Collector’s Office, and their FAT donation to a host of area charities.
Be generous to those less fortunate. Be kind to those who can do you no good. That’s what community members do.
Special thanks to Al and Polly, at The HandleBar, who had never met me before this week…Thanks for listening, and thanks for taking a chance!
