So Local Pasco Podcast, Monday, January 4th, 2016, Sunwest Park Info Edition

Wow, what a nice weekend!  My crazy secret is…I love this change in the weather.  I’ve lived in Florida most of my life, save a few years in an even hotter climate (Africa).  I have had enough hot weather to last a lifetime.  The folks in the part of Canada I lived in thought I was crazy to move from Florida to British Columbia, but I love the cool, rainy weather.

Apparently, others do, as well, because there was a pretty good turnout for the Pasco Elderly Nutrition benefit and open house at Sunwest Park!

This was my first time at the park when everything was up and running, including the cable run wakeboard system.  I have seen these before, and it’s really thrilling to have one “So Local” to us. See what I did, there?  The system will be expanded to be a constant loop system, which is really “The Bigtime” for cable runs.  There were kayaks and SUPs (Stand Up Paddleboards) available, and the water playground, too.

Of course, it was a LITTLE chilly and windy, but I did see some brave souls wakeboarding and swimming.  BIG shout out to ACME Outdoor Movies for bringing out their MASSIVE and bright screen for Frozen!  The crowd loved it:

Good night for jackets and blankets, along with hot chocolate!

Saturday’s event was a benefit for Pasco County Elderly Nutrition, Meals on Wheels.

Here are the links promised in the interview!  Start with the Sunwest Park website, click HERE.  Be sure the check out the FAQ page, it answers a LOT of questions about the park, and how best to enjoy it.  Truly, just take a drive out there, it’s very easy to find!  While you’re in the area, go to my FAVORITE place in Pasco County, the little village of Aripeka!

One of my favorite things to see, in one of my favorite places...The is the South Fork Creek Bridge, in Aripeka, Florida. Make sure you drive SLOW in Aripeka!
