So Local Pasco Podcast, Thursday, December 17th, 2015, Pasco Kids First Edition

When we started out thinking about who we would want to interview for So Local Pasco podcasts, at the top of our list were some folks we knew deserved recognition for the work they do, every day, to make our community better.  You’ve already heard from Barry Horvath, and today, another very important and effective leader for positive work in our community.

Pasco Kids First is an organization that has, as it’s mission, to help children in the WORST of circumstances overcome the trauma of abuse and neglect to live healthier lives.  I cannot stress enough how important the work is, and how special the folks are who do that work.  It takes a special kind of person to walk toward that kind of problem, and roll up one’s sleeves, and help.

Rick Hess has been with Pasco Kids First since 1997, when there were only FIVE employees.  He has been a part of their steady growth, and a big part of planning and carrying out their critical work.  I’m very proud to know ALL of these folks, and I hope you will stand ready to support them, as we do, here at So Local.
